Made with love in Lebanon, OH.

Elizabeth has been teaching piano since she was a teen. She received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Music Education at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. She was fortunate to study with both Eugene Pridonoff and Richard Fields. While Elizabeth was completing her degree she focused on accompanying and collaborative playing, performing both locally and internationally with well-known instrumentalists and vocalists. She was trained to teach in the classroom as well with an emphasis on choral music and general music education K-12.

Ms. Swift currently runs a diverse private piano studio in greater Cincinnati, working with a wonderful group of preschoolers to adults. She is classically trained, but she incorporates all styles of music in her studio and is passionate about teaching composition, improvisation, and other forms of confidence-boosting self-expression through the piano.

Elizabeth came to composing kind of late in life. Reading music seemed much easier and more satisfying until she discovered improvising. When that creative world opened up for her around 2016 when she helped out with a worship band, she began putting her musical ideas to paper. Approximately 150 individual pieces later, Elizabeth finds great joy and satisfaction in creating unique and expressive music for pianists. She composes for a wide range of ages and abilities, and brings a fresh and appealing perspective to all of her arranged pieces. Many of her compositions are appropriate for the professional pianist as well, as they are tasteful and fitting for a variety of performance settings. Her work is widely available and has appeared in the National Federation of Music Clubs Bulletins. She is a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).

She is actively involved in her local music teaching organizations, currently serving on the leadership boards of both KTA (Keyboard Teachers Association) and OMTA-SW (Ohio Music Teachers Association-Southwest), and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through MTNA (Music Teachers National Association). In 2024 she has been honored with a nomination of Certified Teacher of the Year by OMTA-SW. She also won second prize in the NLAPW biennial composition contest for her piano piece, “Nothing Gold Can Stay.”

From Ms. Swift: “All of my pieces evoke an image or feeling, which makes it easier for students to play them expressively. I aspire to create beautiful compositions that are modern and somewhat surprising or with subtly unique harmonies, hopefully inspiring deeper feeling and connection between the music, the player, and the listener.” Elizabeth composes expressive original piano music for a wide range of ages and abilities, aiming to foster meaningful moments for musicians. Many of her compositions are appropriate for the professional pianist, as they are tasteful and fitting for a variety of performance settings. Her elementary level piece, Snow Star, is listed in the National Federation of Music Clubs Bulletin, 2020-2024.

Elizabeth enjoys traveling, hiking, and home improvement projects. She and her husband, David, have a precious family of 3 sons, 1 daughter, and 2 dogs. All (including the dogs) are quite musical.
